Water Management Dashboard for ASHRAE 188 Programs
The AATLS Water Management Dashboard is the live system of record for an ASHRAE 188 water management plan. It holds your sampling-point registry and schedule, evaluates every result against your plan’s control limits, raises tiered alerts, tracks corrective actions to closure and produces the time-stamped records a CMS or Joint Commission surveyor asks for. Results from our ISO/IEC 17025 accredited, CDC ELITE laboratory post to it directly. Any facility that runs a water management plan can use it, and laboratories and consultants can run programs for their own clients on it under their own branding.
Why a dashboard, not a binder
A written ASHRAE 188 water management plan is required, but a plan document cannot tell you what is due this week, which result exceeded a limit last night, or whether the corrective action was closed. Those answers live in spreadsheets, inboxes and clipboards until a surveyor asks for them. The dashboard replaces that with one current record that your Water Management Team, facilities staff and leadership all see.
What the dashboard does
| Function | What you get |
|---|---|
| Compliance dashboard | One roll-up of program health: what is due, what is overdue, what exceeded a control limit and what has been closed, updated as results arrive. |
| Sampling-point registry and schedule | Every point in your plan, by building and water system, with its sampling rotation and the tests due at each round. |
| Results against control limits | Temperatures, residual disinfectant and Legionella action levels evaluated against the limits your plan sets, with exceedances flagged the moment they post. |
| Alerts and escalation | Severity tiers with timed escalation if an alert is not acknowledged by your team, so an exceedance cannot sit unread. |
| Corrective actions and investigations | Each exceedance opens a tracked corrective action with owner, status, root-cause notes and closure evidence. |
| Team, approvals and training | Water Management Team roles, committee meetings, electronic sign-offs, and training records with certificate expiry reminders. |
| Reports and board packets | Compliance summaries, trend charts and bundled supporting documents for committee meetings, leadership and surveys, generated from live data. |
| Multi-site roll-up | Each site keeps its own plan, registry, limits and team; leadership sees one view across all of them. |
Built on accredited testing
The results feeding the dashboard come from a laboratory accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 through ANAB (certificate AT-3321), a member of the CDC ELITE program for Legionella culture, licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZ0838) and registered for EPA CMDP electronic reporting. AATLS is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business. See our accreditations and Legionella testing.
For laboratories, consultants and water-treatment firms
The dashboard is a multi-tenant platform. A laboratory, an ASSE 12080 consultant or a water-treatment firm can run water management programs for its own clients on it, under its own name and branding, with each client’s plan, registry, control limits and team kept separate. You keep the plan-writing and sampling relationship with your client; the platform keeps the record. Ask about partner terms at [email protected].
How it starts
- Share your current water management plan, or ask us to develop one under our ASHRAE 188 service.
- We configure the registry, control limits, sampling rotation, alert tiers and team roles to your plan, with your Water Management Team reviewing each stage.
- Historical results are loaded, your team is trained, and a sampling round runs in parallel before the dashboard becomes the record.

Frequently asked questions
What is a water management dashboard?
A water management dashboard is the live system of record for an ASHRAE 188 water management plan. It holds the sampling-point registry and schedule, evaluates every result against the plan’s control limits, raises alerts, tracks corrective actions and keeps the time-stamped records a surveyor asks for, in one place instead of a static plan document plus spreadsheets.
Does a water management dashboard replace our written ASHRAE 188 plan?
No. ASHRAE 188 requires a written, building-specific plan, and that plan remains the governing document. The dashboard runs the plan: it carries the registry, control limits, team roles and sampling schedule the plan defines and produces the monitoring, corrective-action and review records the plan requires.
Do lab results from AATLS post to the dashboard automatically?
Yes. Results from the AATLS laboratory post to the sampling point they belong to and are evaluated against that point’s control limits as soon as they are reported. Results and readings from other sources, such as field temperatures or a municipal supplier’s report, can be entered or imported against the same registry.
Can one dashboard cover several facilities?
Yes. Each site keeps its own water management plan, registry, control limits, team and schedule, and leadership sees one roll-up across every active plan, sorted so the site that needs attention appears first. Sites are added as the program grows.
What do CMS and Joint Commission surveyors ask for, and how does the dashboard help?
Surveyors expect a written plan, dated annual reviews, environmental sampling records, corrective-action logs and program-team minutes. The dashboard keeps each of these current and exportable, so the record is produced on demand rather than assembled before a survey.
Can AATLS configure the dashboard to a plan another consultant wrote?
Yes. We work from your current plan: the registry, control limits, team and schedule are configured to the plan as written, with your Water Management Team reviewing each stage. AATLS can also develop or update the plan itself as part of our ASHRAE 188 service.
Who uses a water management dashboard?
Facilities that run an ASHRAE 188 program and must show it is working: hospitals and long-term care facilities under CMS QSO-17-30, VA and other federal facilities under VHA Directive 1061, tribal health systems, and hotels, campuses and commercial buildings with cooling towers or complex potable systems.
Can a laboratory or consultant offer the dashboard to its own clients?
Yes. The platform is multi-tenant: a laboratory, consultant or water-treatment firm runs its clients’ water management programs under its own branding, with each client’s plan, registry, control limits and team kept separate. Contact AATLS for partner terms.
