Protect your patients, staff, and visitors from Legionnaires’ disease. American Analytical develops and validates ASHRAE 188-compliant Water Management Programs (WMPs) for healthcare, federal, and commercial facilities nationwide.
Legionella, the bacteria that causes Legionnaires’ disease, grows in poorly controlled building water systems. The ASHRAE 188 Standard is the recognized industry framework for preventing outbreaks.
Facilities that fall short risk:
CMS & Joint Commission citations (healthcare)
VA Directive 1061 non-compliance (federal healthcare)
Costly liability, outbreaks, and reputational harm
Our ASHRAE 188 Services
We don’t just test your water. We build the complete program required by ASHRAE 188, including:
Formation of your Water Management Team (facilities, infection control, administration, lab)
System survey & process flow diagrams (potable & non-potable)
Hazard analysis to identify Legionella growth risks
Development of control measures & monitoring plans
Corrective action protocols for excursions
Verification (ensuring the plan is followed)
Validation (lab testing proving the plan is effective)
ISO 17025 accredited. CDC ELITE certified Legionella analysis. 5–7 day turnaround.

ASHRAE 188 — 2026 Water Management Program Testing
Reviewed for accuracy: June 2026. ASHRAE Standard 188 remains the controlling standard for Water Management Programs (WMP) in 2026. CMS, The Joint Commission, and state health departments actively survey hospitals and long-term care facilities against documented WMP compliance, including validation Legionella sampling, free chlorine residual monitoring, and trend analysis.
AATLS supports healthcare WMPs with ISO/IEC 17025 accredited Legionella testing (culture + PCR), HPC, and chemical parameters. We help facilities design sampling plans, set control limits, and interpret excursion data for Corrective Action documentation.
